O- Ring

Hi all.
I had to replace the feathering shaft on my Blade 400, and had read some where that the O- ring dampeners located in the Head Block/ Rotor Assambly, need to be replaced after around 30 to 60 flights. Ive tried searching the net to find where i can purchase them from, but have had no such luck as yet. Does anyone know where i can order this part from.

Cheers

RE: O- Ring

They're the same o-rings that are used on the CP. The part number is EFLH1158. You can get them from Horizon Hobby at this link http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Rel...%20Listing

RE: O- Ring

Are more shims better for a beginner, or less shims?
What are the effects of more or less shims?

RE: O- Ring

I have had problems, after replacing 4 feathering shafts, with the bearings being too tight to move through servos. It seems to me, that the srews should be tightened all the way, for bearings to operate correctly, if the design is correct. If the screws are loose, they would vibrate out, so, they must be tightened. I have found that using a very thin washer between the O rings and the blade holder, allow me to have tightess in the link, yet good movement. I may be doing something wrong, but I see no advice on this subject. The exploded view on this site is great, but using the step washer with the O ring creates too much binding.
Advice appreciated. Things appear to be working well with my Rube Goldberg invention :-)

I just read today on another forum that people successfully use item #5233T28 purchased from http://www.mcmaster.com. Pack of 50 sells for .63 (US).
Also, some say they are using O-rings purchased at their local hardware store. Size = #60?

Good Luck

RE: O- Ring

Hi Jamie, I've got the same problem.. after popping into several model shops in the USA on a recent holiday and being unsuccessful in finding the o-rings (I'm UK based) I then looked on various websites where the minimum order quantity was excessive (how many o-rings can I use in one lifetime?).

I eventually decided to get some from eBay. The ones I ordered come in a big box with all sorts of other sizes, a few of which I know I can make use of for other projects (cars etc) and at a cost which beat the commercial websites with their min order qtys. So, the only potential problem now is, are they compliant/strong/soft enough for the job but probably more to the point, would I be able to tell the difference anyway given my current skill level? Only time will tell....

Have you decided on your source yet? Let us know how you're getting on.....
