Tail drive clicking

I'm new to Rc helis and have hit my first problem with my Blade 400.

After a benign landing from a low hover the tail drive has started making a rhythmic clicking. I dismantled the tail assembly but the problem appears to be coming from the secondary tail drive gear, which seems to stick and click once per revolution.

I'd welcome any advice or diagnostic suggestions before I leap in and take it apart.

Cool  RE: Tail drive clicking

Update . .

So I leapt in and took it apart. Small abrasion on the secondary tail drive gear with marks on the corresponding teeth on the main gear.

Too easy.

Smile  RE: Tail drive clicking

I too have had a clicking sound and have taken my Blade apart then found this forum and changed the secondary upgraded tail shaft for a standard one and the clicking has stopped.I also noticed that on the brass pinion drive gear the small grub screw was missing which caused the gears to slip when powered up.I've fitted a new pinion gear and all is now well.Thank you for the advice good job there are forum sites...... RE: Tail drive clicking (and Servo repair)

Pleased to hear that my limited experience may have helped someone else! Like you I wouldn't have solved my problem without the benefit of sites like this - thanks to Gremille - especially for 'How to Repair Your Blade 400'. Priceless.

After using the Blade to prune a bush, my next job is to replace the port side servo. Anyone got any useful tips?
